The UNI-SET project is organising the 2nd UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event, taking place at the Politecnico di Torino in Turin, Italy, on 26-28 September 2016.
The event in Turin will provide opportunities for clustering, consortia building and knowledge sharing along the two main themes of the event, which are derived from two priorities of the SET-Plan:
- ‘Develop and strengthen energy-efficient systems’ (Core priority 3)
- ‘Increase safety in the use of nuclear energy’ (Additional priority 2)
UNI-SET is an FP7 Coordination& Support Action implemented jointly by the European University Association (EUA) and KU Leuven, representing the universities in KIC InnoEnergy.
Objectives of the 2nd UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event
The Energy Clustering Events seek to mobilise the European university community to tackle the energy challenge by fostering exchange and collaboration between researchers, educators and other stakeholders, framed by the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) and the Energy Union.
The overall goal is to strengthen inter-university cooperation. The event will offer insights into innovative programmes and approaches from a multidisciplinary perspective through examples, lessons learnt and other best practice. Conference participants will be given opportunities for networking and project development and can also contribute to the development of a “roadmap” for universities in the field of energy.
This is the second event in the series of six Energy Clustering Events scheduled in 2016 and 2017 to discuss and stimulate the development of innovative research and education programmes in the energy field, throughout all SET-Plan and Energy Union R&I priorities.
Call for Contributions
The organisers are welcoming proposals for contributions in form of “good practice examples” and “project ideas and proposals” for several parallel sessions based on the event themes of “energy efficiency” and “nuclear safety”.
