The European Commission has approved under EU State aid rules a measure to support innovative installations for electricity production from solar energy. The measure will further support the EU's energy and climate objectives without unduly distorting competition in the Single Market.Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, in charge of competition policy, said: "Our future will be powered by renewable energy. The French initiative the Commission is approving today will encourage investment in innovative solar installations.
