In May 2016, the public consultation process was dedicated to the 4th Energy Union Research, Innovation and Competitiveness common priority, for "more sustainable transport systems that develop and deploy at large scale innovative technologies and services to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions".
