How to work with this mind map:
- the + at the right of an item indicates that more detailed information is available
- navigate the branch system to find the area of interest
- click the text box icon to the right of each section to find an explanation and/or other data sources
If you want to contribute, e.g. with data:
- contributions must be based on evidence of scientific quality, i.e. subjected to peer-review
- contributing data is highly appreciated
- please send us an e-mail with your contribution structured as in the example below
Contributions
Contributions should ideally correspond to the primary source of data, e.g. for wind electricity production in Ireland the adequate source is probably the Irish grid operator EIGRID.
E-mail to send the contributions: JRC-WIND@ec.europa.eu
Fields in your contribution:
- contributor: title, given name, family name, position, organisation, e-mail (only if you don't mind being contacted by non-SETIS audience, and replacing the sign "@" by "ATA"
- section: subsystem and section where your contribution fits, to the maximum detail possible
- contribution: data or information. It has to be of scientific quality, i.e. peer-reviewed or available for peer review
- source: scientific journal, public report (only in case of reputed institutions), etc. Please include doi/ISBN code and/or the URL where it can be found
- remarks: as requested
Example of contribution
- contributor: Mr Roberto LACAL ARANTEGUI, Scientific Officer, Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, roberto.lacal-arantegui ATA ec.europa.eu
- section: social subsystem, employment, employment effects
- contribution: "A previous publication by the Academy highlighted the importance of attracting Tier 1 manufacturers to the UK. It is estimated that for every Tier 1 job created, another eight will be created in the wider supply chain."
- source: report Wind Energy implications of large-scale deployment on the GB electricity system; UK Royal Academy of Engineering; London, April 2014; ISBN: 978-1-909327-07-8; http://www.raeng.org.uk/publications/reports/wind-energy-implications-of-large-scale-deployment
- remarks:
- although the source publication is not the original publication, both correspond to the same organisation;
- the figure of 1-to-8 is an estimate, it should be overwritten by actual data as soon as it is available;
- despite being an estimate the information is considered of interest because of the quality of the source
